Maternity Leave

The physical and emotional care needed during this time can also be complicated by more mundane needs. Your laundry needs to be done, the family needs to eat, and showers eventually become necessary. None of these are as important as caring for yourself and your baby, but it can be easy to feel pressured to get back into the swing of daily life.

Doulas take a holistic approach. Meaning, we provide whatever help you crave in the moment. Labor, delivery, and postpartum are full of the unpredictable, so we surround you with a supportive network to take care of everything - from your emotional wellbeing to your laundry pile.
Postpartum Doula Support
We provide in-home postpartum doula support to families in the Middle Tennessee area for as long as you need us after your baby is born.
Postpartum doula services include:
- One prenatal visit to create a plan for support
- Support for your physical, emotional and mental recovery
- Education and evidence-based information on recovery, newborn care, and feeding
- Caring for baby while you take a nap or shower or just take care of your own needs
- Light household chores likes dishes and laundry
- Light meal preparation so you stay hydrated and nourished
- Running errands for you.
- Stay overnight to help you and your family get better sleep
- Anything else you feel will help you have the most positive postpartum experience that you deserve
Postpartum doula support services can last anywhere from a few visits to more than a year. We'll develop a customized plan for you.
Birth Doula Support
Birth doulas are professionals who provide physical, emotional and informational support to you throughout your pregnancy and during labor.
Birth Doula Services include:
- Two prenatal visits to discuss and create your birth plan, practice comfort measures and discuss expectations for the birth
- On-call period begins two weeks before your estimated due-date
- Your doula will remain with you throughout your labor and birth and will stay for at least one hour after the birth of your baby
- One in home postpartum visit to see how things are going, answer your questions and talk about your birth
Studies have shown that having continuous support through labor results in less interventions, shorter labor, and higher birth satisfaction.
Grief Support
Together, we can bravely embrace the fundamental transitions of life ~ from birth to death.
My role as an End of Life Doula is not medically oriented, instead it is work that comes from, and is given to the heart.
Whether your loss is through a terminal diagnosis, miscarriage or stillbirth we are here to walk with you through those difficult moments.
